A Warm Welcome: Our First Week of the Longwood Community Woodlands Warm Space

Last week, we opened the doors to our new Warm Space at the Longwood Community Woodlands Visitor Centre. The room is now ready, cosy, and fully set up. It offers a friendly place for anyone who needs warmth or company this winter.

We created the Warm Space to give people a comfortable spot to relax. Visitors can enjoy a hot drink, read, craft, or simply have a chat. As we move into the colder months, we hope more people will drop in and get involved.

Friday Morning: Our First Knitting & Crochet Circle

On Friday morning, we held our first Longwood knitting and crochet circle at the Visitor Centre. The session stayed quiet, but we made the space welcoming and prepared for future meet-ups.

We set out yarn, needles, and comfy seating. In the process, we tested the layout and added extra touches to make the room feel inviting. Looking ahead, we hope beginners and experienced makers will join us each week.

The knitting and crochet circle will run every Friday throughout winter, except during the Christmas break. So if you want to try a new hobby or restart an old project, this is a great chance to join in.

Looking Ahead

Over the coming weeks, we’ll keep sharing updates about activities and cosy sessions in the Warm Space. We hope more visitors will come in, warm up, and enjoy what we’re building.

Thank you for supporting Longwood Community Woodlands as we launch this new project. With your help, the Warm Space can grow into a welcoming hub for creativity, conversation, and connection.

Pop in, say hello, bring a craft, or simply enjoy the warmth. Everyone is welcome.
