Who are we
A non profit Community Woodland
Longwood Community Woodland is a co-operative managed by a board of Directors and, day to day, an in-house manager. We bring in volunteers to help maintain the temperate rainforest.
Saw mill
We have a large woodmizer sawmill, which is crucial in generating the necessary funds to ensure Longwood remains operational.
About us
The Forestry Commission initially managed Longwood Community Woodland, which was later purchased for the community using a grant from the National Lottery Community Asset Transfer Fund.
The Directors and Woodland Manager bring a wealth of experience and expertise in nurturing biodiversity and preserving the beauty of this temperate rainforest. Their passion for the environment shines through in every effort they make to safeguard these vital ecosystems for now and future generations.
