The Halloween Event Longwood hosted at Longwood Community Woodland brought families from across the area together for an afternoon packed with spooky fun, creativity, laughter and community spirit.
From magical potion making and woodland crafts to storytelling, games and our ever-popular costume competition, the event brought together people of all ages to celebrate Halloween in a unique woodland setting. The smiles, incredible costumes and fantastic atmosphere made it one of our most memorable events yet.
A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers
Events like this simply would not be possible without the dedication and generosity of our volunteers. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to help make the day such a success.
From planning activities and decorating the woodland to welcoming visitors, serving refreshments and helping lead activities throughout the event, our volunteers played a vital role in creating a safe, enjoyable and magical experience for everyone who attended.
Your commitment to supporting Longwood Community Woodland helps us continue to provide accessible community events that bring people together and encourage people of all ages to connect with nature.
Thank You to Our Costume Competition Judge
We were delighted to welcome Lampeter Town Council Deputy Mayor, Rhian Davies, who kindly gave up her time to judge our Halloween Costume Competition.
The standard of entries was incredibly high, with witches, ghouls, ghosts, superheroes and imaginative woodland creatures all competing for the top prize. Choosing the winners was no easy task, and we are extremely grateful to Rhian for helping us celebrate the creativity and effort that participants put into their costumes.
Supporting Local Businesses and Community Partnerships
A special thank you also goes to the fantastic local businesses and organisations that generously donated prizes for our raffle and competitions.
Your support not only helped make the event extra special for attendees but also demonstrated the strength of our local community and the importance of working together to create opportunities for families to enjoy affordable, high-quality events.
We are incredibly grateful for every donation, contribution and act of support. By backing community initiatives such as this, local businesses help strengthen community connections and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike.
Funded by Ceredigion County Council
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Ceredigion County Council, whose support through the Communities for Work Fund helped make this event possible.
The funding enabled us to provide a free shuttle bus service from Lampeter to Longwood Community Woodland, helping more people access the event and reducing barriers to participation. The service proved extremely popular and allowed families and visitors without transport to enjoy an afternoon of Halloween fun in the woodland.
By supporting initiatives such as this, the Communities for Work Fund helps create inclusive community events that bring people together, improve wellbeing and encourage greater engagement with local green spaces.
We are incredibly grateful for this support, which helped ensure that our Halloween event was accessible to as many people as possible.
Halloween Event Longwood Brings the Community Together
At Longwood Community Woodland, our mission is to create opportunities for people to connect with the natural environment, learn new skills and enjoy quality time together outdoors.
The success of our Halloween event highlights the value of community-led activities and demonstrates what can be achieved when volunteers, local businesses, community organisations and visitors work together.
Seeing so many smiling faces enjoying the woodland, making memories with friends and family, and experiencing nature in a fun and engaging way reminds us why these events are so important.
