Welcome to Longwood Community Woodland
The Largest Community Woodland in Wales with 325 acres of ancient trees, wildlife, and winding trails cared for by the local community. Just outside Lampeter in the beautiful Teifi Valley, Longwood is a place to explore, learn, and unwind. Families love discovering the magical Dragon Sensory Trail, walkers, cyclists and horse riders enjoy miles of peaceful paths, and nature enthusiasts come to see rare plants, birds, and fungi that make this woodland so special.
Longwood is more than a woodland – it’s a community project. Every path restored, every tree cared for, and every visitor welcomed is made possible by local volunteers and support from people like you. Our on-site sawmill provides locally milled timber, and our eco-friendly visitor centre is a hub for learning and events. We also run educational activities and community projects, helping people of all ages connect with nature and discover the importance of protecting these woodlands. And no matter how many times you visit, the woodland has something new to share – from seasonal colours and wildlife to fresh trails waiting to be explored. Whether you’re here for a quiet walk, to pick up sustainable wood products, or to get involved in woodland management, you’ll always find a warm welcome at Longwood.
Our Mission…
Our mission is simple: to nurture the woodland, protect its biodiversity, and share its beauty with everyone. At the same time, we work closely with the local community, creating opportunities for people to connect with nature through volunteering, education, and sustainable woodland projects. Together, we’re safeguarding Longwood so it can thrive for generations to come.
